Anza-Borrego Desert State Park (California)

I know every “next” campground becomes my favorite. But just look at the photo. This is Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, a California state park northeast of San Diego. It is outside the small town of Borrego Springs, California, and is beautiful. The campsites are well-spaced (and have full utilities).

I missed by one week a large Aston-Martin rally held here that featured test drives of the new models. Through Ford Motor Company, my association with Aston Martin Lagonda goes way back.

The area also is famous for its darkness (absence of light pollution) and is very popular with amateur astronomers. I will get out the binoculars tonight and take a peek. I have a great book to use thanks to Rich and Andrea.

Orange County, California

Learned Today About California: People in Orange County (from Anaheim to San Clemente), believe the people in Los Angeles County are nuts. And, they barely acknowledge the existence of those who live down south in San Diego County.

Orange County is famous for its tourism, as the home of such attractions as Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, and several beaches along its more than 40 miles (64 km) of coastline. It is known for its affluence and political conservatism. Source: Wikipedia.

It also went bankrupt!
